Technical Content Writer
We are looking for a technical content writer candidate (preferably one with a background in development or testing) who’ll be able to mainly write and manage technical content for our blogs. The person should be able to write, edit and manage:
Overview:
- Work with management to understand the product and then produce relevant technical content
- Should be familiar with the concepts of Agile and Scrum, DevOps
- Stories: Infographics, listicles, advancements in the IT professional space, success stories
- News: analysis of latest happenings
- Opinion
- Tips: articles from trainers
- Articles from readers
- Accommodate other resources such as PDFs, e-books with the writing
Responsibilities:
- Create, develop and manage content for organization’s blog/website
- Coordinate web projects across departments
- Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all the articles
- Working with a cross-departmental team, maintain and develop the master content calendar for the blog
- Copyedit and proofread all web content
- Oversee freelancers, including writers, copy editors and community outreach organizers
- Updates related to emerging web technologies and the ongoing events in the IT sector through relevant blogs, listservs, and events
- Track and report on all site metrics
- Work cooperatively with key team members, clients and vendors
Skills:
- 1-2 year experience in content writing
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
- Advanced knowledge of HTML and experience with popular content management systems (WordPress, Movable Type, etc)
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Basic design/Adobe Photoshop skills
- Contemporary writing skills plus a thorough knowledge of English language, journalism, technical writing or a related field
